Gradations

GRADATIONS is a body of work that eventually led to the MFA thesis show at the Aidekman TUFTS University Art Gallery in 1998. It consisted of a series of large and small-scale color field paintings that built their rhetoric on contemporary art theory, investigating the relevance of painting as a medium of exploration and expansion thereof. A major work of that series, a 6x20 ft triptych, was entitled “On the Site of the Rationalization of Painting around the Laws of Color Theory” quoting the American theorist and critic Rosalind Krauss.
